Concept Alpine A110 Review
The Alpine A110 is a great car in the sports segment, it is a smart two seater rival of the Porche Cayman. It is a good light weight car with an attractive small design. This new addition and a revised better edition to the Alpine family comes with a 1.8 lts turbo engine and a 249 bhp, and auto gear system with 7 speeds. The weight is carefully regulated to be in 1103kg, and this is done by using aluminum. Though carbon fiber could be used instead but the price would have been much higher then. The car gave its first intro last year at the Geneva Motor Show.
The engine on starting would give you feel of the normal mode. This by far is the best economic setting in the car. There are the vanilla exhaust note and some upshifts. There is a sports mode. Due to the light weight the car accelerates faster. In the normal mode you may get a lagging feel but in the spots mode you would get a great pace. The car has double wishbone suspension. The engine makes a background rumbling noise too which feesl like hissing. The contact of the road to wheel is gained better with upright wheels. Overall it’s a good car to conquer narrow roads well.
The dimensions of the car are pretty small. Its length is below 4.2 m and the breadth is with 1.8 m. This makes the ca pretty manageable. In fact with such dimensions the two seater car is not much roomy. You would find boot space both at front and rear of the car. The cabin design is as attractive as the Cayman. But if you look at the material quality you may feel a little disappointed though technically they are not bad; like the bulbous shaped steering wheel, the scratchy looking door card below the blue panel in dashboard etc. In fact you may feel the asking price to be higher when you look at these.
Again the seat belts which are nicely designed and light weight too are good. The slot for rear view looks narrow. Near the gear change buttons there is a slot for USB based charging, and there is small space for storing items like iphone etc.
Price and Release Date
The price of the car is estimated to be around $70000, and the car is up for release in the first half of 2018.
