2018 Scion iM Review – Interior, Exterior, Engine, Release Date, and Price
Twelve years ago, Toyota released a compact family car called the Auris. After all, the hatchback was designed for the European customers. However, taking into account its popularity, the Japanese automaker made decision to sell the model in the United States as well. The second generation of the Auris for the American market came under the Scion brand and was codenamed iM. Thus, the Scion line-up was complimented with another inexpensive vehicle demanded by young people loving driving for fun.
The iM that going to be released for 2018 is expected to continue its traditional style. However, the upcoming model will get some improvements. Slight changes can be noticed in both the exterior and interior.
As for the interior, we can expect that the 2018 Scion iM will fit that image earned before. The cabin will feature convenient seats as well as cutting-edge technologies. There will be infotainment system including a touch-screen, audio system and navigation. Also, the car’s safety will be provided by cruise contol, anti-lock braking system, break assist, vehicle stability control, traction control and others.
The iM’s exterior is really impressive. Its unusual look is created by narrow stylish headlights, Scion-branded grille, wide air intake and large side fog lamp slots. The new model version will receive 17-inch alloy wheels that will fit much its overall appearance.
There is no precise information about the new iM’s drivetrain yet. But it’s possible to suppose that it will have the current 1.8-liter inline-four as the main engine. It is not ruled out that this motor will also be included in a hybrid assembly. Its output is rated at 140 horsepower. As for transmission, the 2018 Scion iM will be equipped with a six-speed manual. Optionally, the hatchback can be provided with continuously variable transmission.
