2018 Land Rover Discovery Review

The Land Rover Company has made decision to restyle their Rover Sports model. The new car will be designed in a more foppish style. Supposedly, the project was influenced by such luxury vehicles as the Mercedes-Benz GLE or BMW X6.

First of all, the new model’s style can be seen in swoopier lines of the roof. While the prototype caught on spy photos wears camouflage, we can see that the D-pillar is more steeply raked. This means that the new car will come with different rear end compared to the Sports. The changes can also be noticed in the rear window with sharp corners, a bit smaller taillights as well as rear wheel arcs. The other elements of the Discovery remind its predecessor. Generally, for a SUV, it looks pretty attractive.

Upon the whole, the Sports restyling is, in fact, concerning its functionality with some changes of the bodywork featuring, as said before, reshaped rear end. In this, you can see great job fulfilled by the Land Rover designers and engineers. From the four-door Sport, the new coupe will inherit the chassis. Also, the Discovery will have wheelbase as its predecessor. Nevertheless, it will look in its own way.
For the upcoming car’s interior décor, the developers have chosen the JLR style used in the current Land Rover models. But in the new version, more sporty lines will be added.

Although as a coupe, the 2018 Land Rover will provide less cargo space as well as less headroom for the rear row, it is said to have more attractive appearance than its closest German rivals do.

Many Range Rover cars are equipped with a V6 motor reinforced with a supercharger. We guess that this 3.0-liter engine will be installed in the base version of the Discovery. Additionally, the car can get an 8-speed gearbox. Optionally, the coupe may receive a V6 diesel or supercharged eight-cylinder engine with displacement of 5.0 liters. The latter can produce 550 hp.
